Sometimes rolling around on the floor is the answer

Here we go….AGAIN. In the words of Samuel L. Jackson in Jurassic Park, “Hold on to your butts.

We were warned that things were going to get worse before they got better, and boy did that come true in an ugly way. We’re really just beginning our journey into a dark winter, facing new harsh realities. It’s especially disheartening to regress to more restrictive stay at home orders if you’ve *already* been staying at home.

You know it’s getting really bad when you look forward to your grocery store shopping as if it’s an adventure (sometimes exciting, sometimes terrifying.) How many times exactly does it take me walking out the door and then back in because I have forgotten how to leave the house? (I think I’ve gotten it down to two now.) Off the top of my head I can think of 10 places I have masks and/or hand sanitizer stashed. I hope Santa brings me some really nice hand cream because my hands are hella dry from all the washing and sanitizing!

In addition to the protocols that we all can recite without thinking (social distancing, staying home, washing hands, wearing masks etc.) it is critical that we all take the utmost care of our physical and mental health. You wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t place your health as a priority.

We have thrown all of our energy into bringing you interactive, compassionate, and playful online classes so that you can KEEP MOVING. Movement is going to boost your immunity, cardiovascular health, and your mood. We know it’s tempting to stay in PJs (how many of you have “daytime” and “night time” PJs?) all day, and to let inertia take over. If apathy is thwarting your efforts, try putting your favorite classes in your calendar and setting your workout clothes (or “workout” PJs, we’re not judging) out before class. We KNOW you’re going to feel better afterwards.

Our instructors are paying close attention to clients’ moods and needs for classes in order to create the experiences that will make them feel better. Sometimes we need to go deep into the feels, and sometimes we just need a goddamned distraction.

By the way, having your screen off during class is an option. Once in a while being incognito is just what we need to feel at ease.

Maybe it’s been hard to motivate to take a movement class, or maybe you’ve been killing it with virtual classes and/or outdoor TRX*…either way I have some exciting news but you gotta act fast because it’s THIS THURSDAY ONLY

*The COVID protocols for outdoor fitness (which is still allowed) are being followed for these classes.

What’s so great about foam rolling:

  • Releases areas of muscle tension (sweet relief!)
  • Corrects muscle imbalances
  • Prevents injuries
  • Expands your joint range of motion (freedom!)
  • Relieves joint stress
  • Reduces soreness and improves tissue recovery after a tough workout or other strenuous activity
  • Improves circulation to soft tissue (and thus making them healthier tissues!)
  • Makes you a better (feeling) person 😉
